Loreauville – Funeral services will be conducted for Mrs Ronald J Gonsoulin, Sr, the former Mildred “Blackie” Dupoy, 88 Monday, August 20, 2018 at 1:00 PM at St Joseph Catholic Church with Father Bill Melancon officiating. Burial will follow in St Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday, August 20, 2018, from 9:00 AM until 12:45 PM and rosary will be prayed in funeral home at 11:00 AM by a member of the Men’s Rosary Group.

A native and resident of Loreauville Mrs Gonsoulin passed away Thursday August 16, 2018, at 11:50 AM at St Joseph Hospice – The Carpenter House in Lafayette.

She worked at Iberia Sugar Co-op, Acadian Pontiac – Buick and Musson – Patout Automotive. She enjoyed gardening and visiting with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by children Theresa G Prados and husband Gerard of New Iberia, Janice G Crochet and husband Kirk and Ronald J Gonsoulin, Jr all of Loreauville and grandchildren, Kirby Ronsonet, Willie Ronsonet, Heath Prados, Katie Prados Boutte, Brandy Gonsoulin, Stacy Crochet, Kelly Crochet Guilbeau and Christopher Crochet.

She was preceded in death by husband Ronald J Gonsoulin, Sr; parents Octa and Theresa Broussard Dupoy; brothers, St Paul “Polo” Dupoy and Francis Dupoy and sister Bertha Lee Dupoy.

Pallbearers will be Kirby Ronsonet, Willie Ronsonet, Christopher Crochet, Heath Prados, Ronald Gonsoulin, Jr and Jim Gonsoulin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gerard Prados, Kirk Crochet and Bill Gonsoulin.

The family would like the extend a special thank you to Mrs Terri Francis, 4th floor staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and staff at St Joseph Hospice.
