Funeral services for Mr. Curtis Paul Head of West Monroe, LA will be 2:00pm Monday, December 31, 2018 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 911 Warren Dr. West Monroe with Rev. Luther Sanson and Rev. Joey Meredith officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Sunday, December 30, 2018 at the funeral home.

Mr. Head was born August 24, 1928 in Luna, LA and passed from this life on December 27, 2018 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 90. He was a longtime member of McGuire Methodist Church in West Monroe. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing dominos and dancing. Curtis was fortunate to have three special friends who made his life brighter and fun after the passing of his beloved wife. Darie Rodden and Pat Noblin, who have since passed away, and his present supportive friend and companion, Ruth Naslund.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Oma Lee Head; his parents, Marshall and Ethel Head; and two brothers, Truman Head and Jimmy Head.

Survivors include his children, Trudy Sanson and husband, Luther of West Monroe and Bruce Head and wife, Lisa of Beckville, TX; two grandchildren, Shannette Leach and husband, Danny of Carthage, TX, and December Hill and husband, Lance of Hallsville, TX; six great-grandchildren, Logan, Dylan, Riley, Hunter, Aubrey and River; one great great-grandchild, Brantley; one brother, Thomas Roscoe Head and wife, Jean of Rolling Meadows, IL; one sister, Joann Bradley and husband, Copeland of Florida; also survived by a host of extended family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Danny Leach, Dylan Leach, Rex White, Jexie White, Lance Hill and Logan Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold LaGrone, Jerry Atwell and Tim Brandon.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the aides, therapists, caregivers and staff of Landmark Nursing and Rehabilitation, Kindred Home Health, and to Glenwood Regional Medical Center 5th floor telemetry nurses and staff for their love and care shown to Mr. Head in his final days.
