Funeral services for Janet Stone Martin, 98, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Dubach with Pastor Greg Tipton, Sheriff Mike Stone, and Rev. Gerry Lane Courtney officiating. Burial will follow in Mineral Springs Cemetery in Dubach under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Ms. Martin was born on January 17th, 1920 in Spearsville, LA to Berson and Mattie Heard Stone and peacefully entered her heavenly home on June 9th, 2018. After a childhood on the farm and attending Spearsville School, she contributed to the success of our fighting men in World War II as a shift supervisor at the Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant in Minden. After the war, Janet would marry Gerald Clayton Martin, raise three beautiful children, and retire from Lincoln General Hospital to her home in the Mineral Springs community. Her life was blessed beyond measure and full to the brim with happy memories.

Ms. Martin is preceded in death by her parents; husband: Gerald Martin of Mineral Springs; daughter: Jean Martin of Shreveport; sister: Clarice Stone Courtney and husband Loyd of Spearsville; brother: George Stone, Sr. and wife Ethel of Ruston; brother: Melvin “Guts” Stone and wife Ann of Spearsville and grandson: Jimbo Martin of Mineral Springs.

Left behind to honor her memory are her son: Jimmie Martin and wife Jerri Ann of Mineral Springs; daughter: Margo McCullin; grandchildren: Melissa Martin Muench and partner Rick, Jenny Hatfield and partner Clint, Joe Martin and partner Jessica, Cody McCullin, Monty Self and wife Sherri and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Joe Martin, Dalton Martin, Payton Martin, AJ Martin, George Stone, Jr., Stanley Lenard, Barry Frasier, and Cody McCullin. Honorary Pallbearers: Wallace Martin, Randy Frasier, Lane Martin, Max Otwell, Tony Otwell, Bud Barmore, Aaron Martin, and Jimmy Nolan.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Monday, June 11, 2018 at Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Dubach.
