Zibilich Margaret Scherf Zibilich passed away peacefully on May 22, 2016 shortly after celebrating her 100th birthday. She was born on February 23, 1916 in San Diego, CA. She has been a lifelong resident in New Orleans area for over 80 years. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Paul and Adele Scherf. Beloved wife of the late Paul Zibilich, Jr. Sister of Esther Lehnhardt, the late Ruth Wadsworth, and the late John Scherf. Mother of Ronald Zibilich (Fay) and Carol Zibilich Davies. Grandmother of Connie Zibilich Melancon and Kyleigh Davies Laurent (John). Great grandmother of Peyton and Jackson Melancon and MacKenzie Laurent. She was a loving, caring, and compassionate lady who always put others before herself. She was a devoted member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church. Her strong faith gave her the strength and peace throughout her life. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Woldenberg Village and Compassus Hospice for their continued compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 315 Ridgelake Drive, Metairie, LA 70001. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a service at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 26, 2016 in the Gerard Schoen Chapel at Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery.
