February 23, 1936 - October 18, 2015

Rachael Lang Kinard, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado passed away on October 17, 2015. She was surrounded by her family when she passed. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John; her boys Lang, and his two sons Evan and Zach; and Craig and his wife, Becca, and their three sons, Jack, Will and Alex. Rachael was born in Greenville, N.C. to Robert & Virginia Land. She graduated from East Carolina University and went on to join Eastern Airlines, where she worked as a flight attendant and instructor in Miami and New York City. New York is where she met her husband, John Kinard, on a blind dinner date in 1966. They married on New Year's Eve in 1966 at the Jarvis Memorial Methodist Church in Greensville, N.C. Following a honeymoon in Europe they moved to Billings, Montana. After a short time teaching in Billings, she became a full time mother and homemaker after the birth of their first son, Lang, in 1969. Their second son, Craig, was born in 1971. She was an incredibly nurturing and loving Mother, always putting her family first. While in Billings she also volunteered her time at the Junior League, the boy's schools and was active in their Little League program. In 1981, the family moved to Denver where her husband started a new company. In Denver, Rachael was again active in the kids' schools volunteering her time. As the kids grew older she and John often traveled to their home in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina where she was able to spend time with her sister Ginger's family as well as many friends from her childhood. Rachael and John later sold their home in North Carolina, motivated by a few too many hurricanes and their sons moving back to Colorado where they started families of their own. Rachael was a loving and devoted grandmother to her five grandsons. She was a constant source of love and support in her families lives. She was patient, selfless, kind, thoughtful, and loving to those who knew her and will be sorely missed. Her laughter and sense of humor will forever be in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite charity on her behalf.
