Ivy "Bernice" Hebert Matherne, a homemaker, died Aug. 26 of complications from diabetes at West Jefferson Medical Center. She was 77. Ms. Matherne was born in Lafourche Parish and lived in Marrero for the past 55 years. She was a member of Marrero Assembly of God Church. Survivors include four sons, Alvin, Allen and Anthony Matherne and Edmond Matherne Jr.; four daughters, Alice Breaux, Ivy Blando, Mary Matherne and Dolores Gordon; 36 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A funeral was held Friday at Mothe Funeral Home. Burial was in Thomas Cemetery in Franklinton .
