Funeral services for Shelby O. “Gander” Gaines, 78, of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday May 23, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Rev. Gene Benson officiating. Interment will be in the Lapine Assembly of God Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.Mr. Gaines was born on June 17, 1937 and passed away on May 21, 2016 in Ruston, LA. He was a member of Lapine Assembly of God and retired from Olinkraft. Mr. Gaines enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. Mr. Gaines loved his children and grandchildren. Mr. Gaines is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred Gaines; wife, Maria Elena Gaines; sons, Shelby Gaines, Jr. and Robert Campbell.Survivors include his children, Vickie Gaines Williamson, Sondra Gaines Walsh, Sheila Gaines McClain, Candi Summerville, Sherrie Roberson, David Campbell. And Darryl Campbell; 18 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
