Funeral services for Ms. Catherine Crew Young, 49, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2012, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Lindle Stewart officiating. Interment will follow at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe.
Ms. Young was born on March 25, 1962 in Salina, KS and passed away January 2, 2012. She was a long time resident of Monroe, LA where she raised her family. Cathy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She cared for her family deeply. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was known for her radiant smile and personality, which was full of life. She was a very generous person to all people and an avid animal lover. She was a member of New Light Baptist Church.
Ms. Young was preceded in death by her father, Howard Douglas Crew II; her mother, Rubie Jean Easom; and step father, Loyde B. Duffey, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather Prather and husband Chad; son, Christopher Young and wife Ashley; brother, William Duffey; sister, Lori Anderson; grandchildren, McKenzie and Logan Prather and Alyssa and Fisher Young; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be William Dombrowski, Sr., William Duffey, John Ellis, John Goudeau, Scott Howard, and Jim Howell. Honorary pallbearers will be William Loflin and Randy Smith.
