Mrs. Bessie Barrier, 84, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at The Specialty Hospital of Meridian.
She was a native of Pioneer, LA, lived in Bastrop, LA for many years, and had been a resident of Philadelphia for the past 18 years. She was a retiredsecretary/bookkeeper & formerly worked for Jones Furniture Company in Bastrop & Bastrop United Pentecostal Church. Mrs. Barrier was a member of New Zion United Pentecostal Church.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Walker; granddaughter, Pamela Andrews; great-grandsons, Shane Cox, Dewayne Cox,
and Matthew Cain; great-granddaughter, Misty Waller; sister, Gladys Freeland; and brother, Thurman Wright.
Survivors include her husband, Rev Brown Barrier of Philadelphia; step-daughter, Linda Rockco of Foxworth; step-son, Leonard Barrier of Philadelphia; granddaughters, Janet Robinson, Susan Wit, Beth Courson, and Carla Walker; and grandson, Steven Walker all of Bastrop, LA; step-grandchildren, Marilyn Powell of Foxworth and James Rockco of Jayess; 18 great-grandchildren and their families; and brother, Herman Wright of Pineville, MO.
