Rual Sharp Jr., 94, of Vivian, LA passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Vivian, LA officiated by Rev. Billy Flowers. Burial will follow at Vivian Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, December 10th at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian.
Rual was born October 15, 1925 in Gladewater, TX to Rual Sharp and Beatrice Pounders Sharp, and lived in this area since 1958 after moving from Austin, TX. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Vivian. Rual loved sports; he was once president of the North Caddo Rebels Quarterback Club and he could always be seen walking the sidelines during games. He and his family helped reorganize the Vivian Athletic clubs. He loved to play golf; he loved the Dallas Cowboys, and the Houston Astros. He worked at Sears and Roebuck in Bossier City in the automotive department. Rual loved to hear Gospel Music, and helped organize singings at his church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nita Sharp, his great granddaughter Summer Rushing, his granddaughter in law Allison Hall, his brother David Sharp and an infant sister. He is survived by his children; Anita Hall and husband Charles Sr. of Bivins, TX, and Tommie McHenry and husband Randy of Bossier City, LA, his siblings, Melba Sharp Williams of San Antonio, TX, Ray Glen Sharp and wife Barbara of Gladewater, TX, and Travis Sharp and wife Nancy Simmons of Vivian, LA, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearer will be Jerry Rushing, Andy McHenry, Charles Hall Jr., Anthony Hawn, Austin Hawn, Charles Hall III, Brian Washington, and Joey Medrano.
