September 10, 1936 - March 17, 2018
Lucille “Granny Grunt” Swearengin, 81 of Vivian, LA passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at McLeod Tabernacle Church officiated by Rev. J.P. Story. Burial will follow at Vivian Cemetery. There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 pm on Monday, March 19, 2018 at McLeod Tabernacle, McLeod, TX.
Lucille was born on September 10, 1936 in McLeod, TX and she lived most of her life in Vivian. She loved working as a caregiver/sitter especially with Hayes Hale. She enjoyed having and keeping a clean house. She enjoyed spending time with her grand and great grandchildren who affectionately called her “Granny Grunt”.
She was preceded in death by her husband William Henry Swearengin, her 4 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her 3 children; Gracie Durmon and husband James of Vivian, Terri Tarno and husband Tommy of Vivian, and Randy Swearengin of Vivian, her brothers, Guy Terry, Junior Terry, and Bill Terry, her sisters Judy Evans and Laverne Evans, her 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend Glenda Young.
Pallbearers will be David Houston, Nathan Hale, Bubba Logan, Josh Gilmore, Austin Gilmore, and Johnny Fitzgerald.
