November 24, 1931 - October 6, 2015
Mary Frances Dunlap McCormick, 83 of Vivian, LA passed away October 6, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, October 9, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Vivian, officiated by Rev. Richard Beeman. There will be a time of visitation from 9:30 prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Vivian Cemetery. Mrs. McCormick was born November 24, 1931 in Atlanta, TX to Ovel Nelson Dunlap Sr. and Ollie Price Dunlap. She lived in the Vivian area most of her life where she was a member of First Baptist Church. Mary was very active at her church serving on several committees, and she loved her Sunday school class of Adult 3 Ladies. She was a member of the Zetalathion club and was very active in the Vivian community serving in town beautification projects, planting flowers and plants in the downtown area, and supporting her late husband's time as Mayor. She especially loved being a wife, mother, and mamaw. Mrs. McCormick was preceded in death by her husband Hayward D. McCormick and her brother O.N. Dunlap. She is survived by her 3 sons; Charles McCormick and wife Janey of Vivian, LA, James McCormick and wife Debbie of Vivian, and Danny McCormick and wife Susan of Vivian, her sister-in-law Francis Dunlap, her 7 grandchildren; Chad, Matt, Chase, Kyle, Josh, Ragan and Kyndal, her 7 great grandchildren; Lilli, Austin, Katie, Case, Ella, Huck and Josey, and her special friend Edna Sanders. Pallbearers will be Chad McCormick, Josh McCormick, Kyle McCormick, Chase McCormick, Lucas Hale, Larry Driskell and Putt Goss. Honorary pallbearer is Dr. Stephen Taylor. In lieu flowers, please make donations to the First Baptist Church Missions offering.
