Funeral services celebrating the life of Shirley Dunn Batres will be held Monday, September 23, 2019 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fred Wideman officiating at First United Methodist Church in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Minden, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, Louisiana.

Shirley was born January 25, 1935 in Minden, Louisiana, moved to California in 1955, raised five boys and retired back to Minden April 12, 2000. Shirley entered into rest, September 16, 2019 in Minden, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Bethel Dunn, brothers, Hugh Garland Dunn, Jerry Dunn and William Dunn, son, John Batres, and granddaughter, Gena Tucker.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Batres II of Minden, Son Joe Batres III and wife Jenell of Minden, Michael Batres and wife Cindy, Robert Batres and wife Kathleen and Paul Batres and wife Jessica all of California, grandchildren, Sarah Batres, Joe Batres IV, Becky Batres Harrington, Josh Batres, Cody Batres, Jessica Batres, Miranda Coup, Megan Coup and Josh Tucker, and great-grandchildren, Ty, Josey, Jema, and Jase and numerous nephews and nieces.
