Lois Mae BAILEY KROUSE

Pine Grove Church Cemetery
Webster County,
Louisiana

October 7, 1936 - September 23, 2018

Lois B. Krouse, 81, also known as Mama Loisey to everyone who loved her, met Jesus face to face on Sunday morning, September 23, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.

She was born October 8, 1936 in Haynesville, Louisiana. Her parents were Dorothy Jones Bailey and Orie Bailey. She graduated from Haynesville High School, married Francis Otto Krouse and started a family. She attended Northwestern State University, became a nurse and worked at Schumpert Hospital. There she learned and loved plastic surgery where she helped to make broken things beautiful. This special gift to love the broken would carry through her whole life. She took care of hundreds of children in her home, and later cared for foster children, before spoiling grandchildren. She was a tireless worker for Operation Christmas Child, where she assembled 100 boxes each year to share the love of Jesus with children and visited the ladies’ prison each week to share God’s love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother James Ray Bailey, and a host of friends and family who welcomed her home. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 59 years, Francis Otto Krouse, her daughters Tricia (Krouse) Hayes and husband Gilbert D. Hayes, Jeannie (Krouse) Machowski and husband James Machowski, Theresa Bailey Booth and husband Ben Booth, son Danny P. Bailey and daughter Debbie A. Morgan and husband Mace Morgan. Grandchildren Nathan Hayes and wife Morgan, Samuel Hayes, Abbie Machowski, Adam Machowski, Andria White and husband Bradley, Zachary Odom and wife Taylor, and one brother Bob Bailey and daughter Bonnie Beth Stewart and husband Stephen Stewart. She “adopted in love” many foster children, friends, nieces, nephews, cousins and great grandchildren who will miss her enthusiastic joy for those she loved.

Special thanks to Christus Highland Cancer Center, Pine Grove Methodist Church, and the Minden community that has loved, surrounded and cared for the family through this difficult time.

Visitation will be at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, 4549 LA Highway 159 in Minden, LA on Thursday, September 24 from 5 to 8 PM and the funeral service will be Friday morning from 10 AM to 12 PM. Graveside will follow at the same location.

If you choose to make donations instead of flowers, they can be made in her memory to Operation Christmas Child, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Pine Grove United Methodist Church.
