Alvie Josephine Smith Rankin died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at River Region Medical Center. She was 80.
Mrs. Rankin was born in Spencer, La. She was the owner of Smith's Furniture Store and a member of Acts Tabernacle Church in Tallulah.
Survivors include a son, Percy C. Smith of Tallulah; three sisters, Thelma Graves and Dorothy Shockey, both of Bastrop, La., and Gloria Hodge of West Monroe, La.; a brother, Bobby Pardue of Bastrop; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Acts Tabernacle Church with the Rev. Greg L. Nichols officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. Saturday at the church.
