MRS. CHANDLER DEATH VICTIM
Funeral services were held in Bogalusa Friday afternoon for Mrs. Inez Pounds Chandler, age 65, who died while enroute by ambulance to the Bogalusa Medical Center. Death came as a result of a heart ailment which had become increasingly serious since the first of December, when a similar attack nearly proved fatal. Her sister, Mrs. Idalia Waller of Nashville, Tenn., had been at her bedside for the past month, and was with her until just a few moments before the end came.
Although Mrs. Chandler's close relatives and friends knew of the seriousness of her condition, her death was nevertheless a severe severe shock, because at various times in the past month she had seemed to show noticeable improvement. She had been hospitalized at the Bogalusa Medical Center for two months during the past year, but had since gained better health, and had been able to enjoy her clubs and many of her usual activities.

Mrs. Chandler was a life-long resident of Washington Parish, and a member of one of the area's oldest families. She attended school in Poplarville, and is well-known locally. She is survived by a large number of cousins, residents of almost every community in the parish.

Immediate survivors include her husband, J. B. Chandler, well-known retired engineer of the G. M. and O. railroad; and her sister, Mrs. Idalia Waller, of Nashville, Tenn.

Mrs. Chandler was a former secretary of the Washington Parish Police Jury. Always an active and civic minded citizen, Mrs. Chandler held membership in several clubs, and at one time headed the Eastern Star organization in Bogalusa.

Services were conducted at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Russell McIntyre as officiating minister. Interment was in the Pounds family cemetery.
