Velma Sandifer McCain(Died February 6, 2001)FRANKLINTON - Velma Sandifer McCain, 90, a resident of Franklinton, died yesterday at 9:35 a.m. in Riverside Medical Center. She was the widow of Amile McCain and a member of Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church.Survivors include two daughters, Wilda Luper and Delia Creel; a daughter-in-law, Alice McCain all of Franklinton; 11 grandchildren, Annie Mae Luper Dickerson, Cathy Luper DeMant, Wilton McCain, Peggy Creel Saucier, Kaye Luper Magee, Allen McCain, Judy Creel
Narvaez, Jerry McCain, Cindy Creel, Patricia McCain Temples, and Charlette Creel; 23 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death was a son, Willie J. McCain; two sons-in-law, Dock Luper and Vernon Creel; two grandchildren, Shirley Carol Creel and Audrey McNabb; three great-grandchildren, Autumn, Casey, and Amber Payne; a brother, Everett Sandifer; and two sisters, Nettie Sumrall and Daisy Luper. Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home today from 5-10 p.m. and will continue after 8 a.m. tomorrow until time of the funeral service, to be conducted from the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. The Rev. Willie J. Passman, the Rev. Ted Phillips, and the Rev. Clyde Cooper will officiate at the service.Burial will follow in the Poplarhead Missionary Baptist Church
Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Larry Magee, Mike Saucier, Bernard Frickie, Vernon Saucier, Eugene Boudreaux, and Lucas Luper. Crain Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
