Minnie Rhymes Wheat, 84, a native of Bay St. Louis, MS and long time resident of Washington parish died yesterday at Bogalusa Community Medical Center. She is a member of Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Bogalusa.
She is survived by her husband, Hayward Wheat of Bogalusa; a son, Willie Wheat of Bogalusa; a daughter, Lyndall Mizell of Purvis, MS; four grandchildren, Loretta Byrd, Cheryl Hughes, Clifton Wheat, all of Bogalusa and Stewart Wesley Mizell of Hattiesburg, MS; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jimmy D. Rhymes of Bogalusa; a sister, Vera Rhymes Smith of Bogalusa; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, William G. Rhymes and Louella Smith Rhymes; two brothers, William Rhymes Jr. and Bobby Rhymes; a sister, Myra Belaski; and a grandchild, Charmane Dwan Mizell.
Visitation will be at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home tomorrow from 9-11 a.m.
The funeral service will be at the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m. Clifford "Kip" Taylor will officiate.
Interment will follow in Ponemah Cemetery.
