Mrs Mary Lou (Etta) Mellard, 89, of 6670 Howe Street, of Groves, died Saturday at 2:15 pm in Park Place hospital following an illness of nine weeks.
She was a native of Dodson, La, and had lived here 21 years.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs Odie Harris of Monroe, La; two sons, A J Mellard of Groves and Connie Mellard of Vidor; a brother, J Y Hamilton of West Monroe, La.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today at 3:30 pm in the Mulhearn Funeral home at [Monroe]. The Rev.Walter Mangum, pastor of the First Baptist church of Monroe, will officiate and burial will be in the Nash cemetery in West Monroe.
Nederland Memorial Funeral home which had charge of local arrangements will take the body to Monroe today for services.
