SHREVEPORT, LA - Julie Anna Villarreal died peacefully at Southern Oaks Nursing Home on Monday, April 16, 2007. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Wednesday, April 18th at Osborn Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 on Wednesday in the chapel of Osborn with Monsignor Carson LaCaze officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Julie was born in Bracketteville, Texas on June 19, 1912 into a loving Christian family totaling 10 brothers and sisters. She married Arthur John Villarreal on July 1, 1937 who preceded her in death. She is survived by her only daughter, Jenny Christian and husband, Roger; grandsons, Scott Partin and wife, Dawn, and Chuck Partin and wife, Eue; step-granddaughters, Jana Wynn and husband, Wade, Katie Christian and Vivian Christian; 15 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Bell Easom.
Julie’s family would like to thank the staff at Southern Oaks for their love and care they gave her while she was there.
Julie was a vivacious and loving lady who never met a stranger. She was very active in her church, Christ the King Catholic Church since 1940. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters, and was honored with the Catholic Daughter of the Year Award. She participated in the Highway 80 Garden Club winning many blue ribbons for her arrangements; she was room mother, PTA member, and Band Parents Club Member.
Her greatest joys were realized when her family was in her home eating her good cooking. Her warm and loving spirit will be greatly missed while we rejoice in the knowledge that she is once again reunited with the love of her life, Arthur John Villarreal whom she never stopped missing and loving. We are sure that they are dancing together again today.
All is well now.
