Peggy Hawkins Rehm passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2016 in Houston, TX. She was born on May 5, 1921 in New Orleans, LA to the late Edward Webb Hawkins and Althea Ursula Fielding.
Peggy was married to her beloved husband, the late Daniel Robert Rehm Jr, for 58 years. She was the loving mother of Peggy Rehm Swords and Randy Robert Rehm. Peggy was the proud grandmother of Kelly Fielding Swords. She was the sister-in-law of Dale Deatheridge Hawkins, Merle Marks Rehm, and Karen Rehm Feldewert.
Peggy moved to Houston, TX in 1965 but New Orleans was always home in her heart. She grew up on Harding Drive and continued to attend St. Joseph Academy Reunions until 2005. In New Orleans was active in St. Frances Cabrini Church and with her children's activities. Later in Houston, she worked at Joske's/Dillard's Department Store until she retired. She worked for many years as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She picked up her granddaughter Kelly from school every day and they went shopping and to eat cookies from her favorite bakery. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Community since 1965.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Mass to be celebrated by Msgr. Jim Anderson at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman St, Houston, TX 77018 on Saturday, February 13th, 1:30 PM. A reception preceding the Mass will be held in the Fellowship Hall at 12:30.
