Wife of Herbert J Sumrall
Hazel was the only child of Thomas George (Tommy) Lambert and Nancy J. Schilling Clark Lambert. Her parents married a month after her father returned from infantry service in World War I. The Jan. 8 1920 census shows the couple with Nancy's three daughters from her first marriage, to Elisha Clark: Minnie (age 7), Emma (4), and Jessie Lee (1). Tommy is working on a farm. Hazel would be born later that year. The children lost their mother when they were still very young. Nancy died in 1922. Tommy died in 1933, when Hazel was only 14.
Herbert Sumrall and Hazel Lambert had eleven children, six daughters and five sons: Margaret, Donald W., Dorman, Mevelyn, Gary D., Carol Jean, Herbert L., Marlene, Frank, Evelyn, and Ester Lou.
