Mrs. Martha A. McLain died Wednesday in the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Dan J. McElveen. She was 87 years, and 10 days old, and is survived by an only child, L.W. McLain.
She raised Olan O. Varnado, son of D.A. Varnado, after the death of his mother, who was the daughter of Mrs. McLain. Interment followed in the Magee cemetery west of Franklinton, by the side of her husband, the late John McLain.
