Death of Mrs. W. W. Varnado.
"On the night of June 15, 1911, death visited the home of Mr. W. W. Varnado, of Enon, La., and claimed for its victim his precious companion and wife, Mrs. Dora Varnado. At nine o'clock her spirit passed from its earthly tabernacle to dwell in that house not made with hands, eternal in the Heavens.
The funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. E. F. Corkern. The interment was made in the Enon Church Cemetery on the evening of June 16th.
While dear Dora's face shall be sadly missed among the friends of earth, and while her dear husband shall spend so many lonely hours, and those precious children shall miss her loving embrace, and though her voice is forever stilled, yet, our loss is Heaven's eternal gain and it shall only increase our interest in the Heavenly mansion.
Dora had suffered for many years, yet she bore it all with patience. For one week, at the last, it seemed that death was continually present in that home, but not until Thursday night did it become real. She was 35 years and 10 days old. So we set that not only the old but that the young, too, must died. Let us not forget that "When the evening shadows gather, And the long day's work is done, When we reach the unknown country Out beyond the setting sun, After all the patient waiting And that peaceful rest to share, We Shall know each other there."
