FRANKLINTON - Oveid Pope, 79, a resident of Franklinton died yesterday in Riverside Medical Center. He was a retired 30-year employee of Union National Insurance Company, a WWII Veteran and a member of Salem Baptist Church in Salem, MS.He survived by his wife of 57
years, Frances McKenzie Pope of Franklinton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald R. and Bonnie Green Pope and Kenny W. and Michelle Pope, all of Franklinton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rev. Breaux and Sandy Pope
Tageant of Hurley, MS and Jimmy and Rheba Pope Fisher of Franklinton; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a brother, J. W. Pope of Tylertown. Preceding him in death was his parents, Alcus and Elizabeth Pope; and two brothers, John and Evon Pope.Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home today from 6-10 p.m. and continue after 8 a.m. tomorrow until time of
service, to be conducted at the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Dr. Gene Richards and Rev. Breaux Tageant will officiate. Interment will follow in the Ellis Cemetery.

FRANCES McKENZIE POPE, age 82
and a resident of Franklinton died at 6:25 PM Saturday at her residence. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and the widow of Oveid Pope.

Survived by: 2 Sons: Ronald O. and Bonnie Green Pope Kenny W. Pope all of Franklinton 2 Daughters: Sandy and Rev. Breaux Tageant of Poplarville Rheba and Jimmy Fisher of Franklinton 11 Grandchildren: Ronald Pope, Jr., Chris Pope, Lucky Pope, Bridget Woodward, Chad Fisher, Kimberly Cassidy, Robert Tageant, Robin Tageant, Heather Tageant, David Hood Burris and John Paul Burris Also 8 great grandchildren Brother: James McKenzie of Tylertown

Visitation at Crain Funeral Home from 6 PM until 9 PM Sunday and after 8 AM Monday. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Gene Richards and Rev. Breaux Tageant officiating. Burial in the Ellis Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to Lakeshore Hospice in Mandeville.
