Funeral Services For Mrs. Jeanette Hood on Friday
Funeral services will be held today (Friday) for Mrs. Jeanette Dy Hood, age 87, who died at her home here Wednesday, July 1, at 7:40 p.m.
Services will be conducted from Schoen & Molloy funeral home at 9:30 a.m., with interment in the Ellis Cemetery at Franklinton. Rev. Baxter Pond, pastor of Covington First Baptist Church, will conduct the services.
Mrs. Hood was a member of the Christian Scientist faith.
She fell five weeks ago, bruising herself severely, and never recovered from the injuries. She had lived in Covington for the past 30 years. Her husband was the late Thomas Jefferson Hood.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Dudley Weaver of Franklinton, Mrs. Claude Sevy of Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. L. K. Butler of Lafayette, Mrs. Jackson A. Hawley of New Orleans and Mrs. Jessie Helms Brown of Covington; one son, Arthur E. Hood Sr. of Amite; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
