Crain Funeral Home: HAROLD T. C. CORKERN, AGE 72
And a resident of Franklinton died Saturday May 4, 2019 at his home. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Harold was retired after a 36 year career in the Maintenance Department of the Town of Franklinton but continued on as the overseer of the Franklinton Municipal Airport for the last several years. Harold enjoyed sitting on his porch and watching his favorite shows Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune each afternoon. He loved to eat lunch every day with his friends at the Fair City Café, formerly Main Street Café, and would often return for dinner as well. Harold’s favorite hobby was collecting antique Chevrolet cars and trucks which he frequently took to car shows throughout the area. He would keep and drive the cars until selling them and then moving on to the next treasured one he could find.

Daughter and Son in law: Abbie Marie Golab and Steven Kyle Golab of Orlando, FL
2 Sisters and a Brother in law: June and George Stevens,
Judy Corkern and Albert Young all of Franklinton
Uncle: Marvin Magee of Franklinton
Father in law and Mother in law: Bill and Janet Friesner of Vandalia, IL
Brother in law: Darryl Friesner of Emily, MN
Also numerous nephews, cousins and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife Diana Lynn Friesner Corkern, who passed away also on May 4th twelve years before, his father Archie Corkern, mother Lois Magee Fairburn and numerous aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Tuesday May 7th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A graveside funeral service will be held in Ellis Cemetery at 10:00 am on Wednesday with Rev. Joey Miller officiating. Burial will follow the service.
Honorary Pallbearers are his good friend Kenneth Strahan, brother in law George Stevens and his former coworkers with the Town of Franklinton.

Diana Lynn Friesner Corkern, age 51, a resident of Franklinton, died early Friday night, May 4 in Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. She was a retired agronomist working at LSU Southeast Research Station for many years and was currently employed at the USDA office in Franklinton. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Corkern of Franklinton; a daughter, Abbie Marie Corkern of Franklinton; her parents, Bill and Janet Friesner of Vandalia, Ill.; a brother, Darryl Friesner of Emily, Minn.; four nephews, Joshua Friesner, Jonathan Friesner, Wesley Friesner and Nathan Friesner.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Ward and Catherine Friesner and Lawrence and Evalyn Hoffman; and two uncles, Dr. Alan Hoffman and Jim McLaughlin.
Visitation was held at Crain Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 6, and continued after 9 a.m. Monday, May 7 at First Baptist Church until time for funeral service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Luther Stanford, Rev. Bill Howard and Rev. Paul Watts officiated with burial following in Ellis Cemetery.
