Mary Virnelle Dampeer Bulloch, age 94, and a resident of Franklinton died at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

She was born in New Hebron, Mississippi in 1918, the youngest of three brothers and three sisters. She was a school teacher and became the secretary/bookkeeper to the Superintendent of Education in Tylertown. During World War II she traveled by train to South Dakota to marry Wilferd Bulloch. They settled in Franklinton and she worked along side her husband and raised her family.

Mrs. Bulloch was active as a Cub and Boy Scout leader, Brownie leader, GA leader and an active member of the WMU and First Baptist Church. She was in the Garden Club and enjoyed working in her yard and loved knitting and making quilts for her family.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and A.W. Foy of Franklinton; son and daughter-in-law, Ted and Jill Bulloch of Franklinton; 4 grandchildren and spouses, Kendra and Steve McCune of Baton Rouge, Kimberly Foy, Katie Bulloch, Will Bulloch all of Franklinton; 3 great-grandchildren, Blake Bulloch, Sawyer McCune and Sinclaire McCune.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilferd Bulloch, her parents, Estus Dampeer and Kate Shows Dampeer; 3 sisters, Essie Bullock, Katie Mae Sutton, Bert Cagle; and 3 brothers, Preston Dampeer, Clarence "Red" Dampeer and Victor Dampeer.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Crain Funeral Home with a graveside funeral service at Ellis Cemetery with Rev. Paul Watts officiating immediately following the visitation.
