A deputy state fire marshal, he died at 8 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 1996, at his residence in Franklinton. He was 47 and a native of Franklinton. Visiting at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton, 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and after 9 a.m. Friday. Religious services in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted by Dr. Jerry Barlow and the Rev. Richard Bailey. Burial in Ellis Cemetery , Franklinton. Survived by wife, Janice Wilkes Branch, Franklinton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Albert G. Jr. andAmy Branch, New Orleans, and Jeffrey Dewitt Branch, Franklinton; two grandchildren, Taylor and Caroline Branch; mother, Dorothy B. Branch, Franklinton; and a brother, Dale E. Branch, Bogalusa. Preceded in death by father, Dewitt Edgar Branch Jr. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Franklinton.
