Villar Thomas, 70, a resident of the Bonner Creek community died at 10:15a m Tuesday, at St Tammany Hospital in Covington.

Thomas was a retired bus driver with the Washington Parish Schools with 35 years of service He was a member of the Bonner Creek Baptist Church.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Betty Pittman Thomas of Franklinton, LA; one son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Diane Thomas of Franklinton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jauan and David King of Franklinton and JoEllen Kimberly of Slidell; four grandsons, Micheal Magee ,Daniel Bickham, Scott Thomas and Kasey Thomas; two great-grandsons, Trevor Thomas and Brandon Lee Thomas; four sisters, Marcelle Rester of Bogalusa, LA, Faye Breland of Pine, LA, Marjorie Seals and Bernice Crain both of Thomas, LA.

Visitation will be at the Crain Funeral Home from 6 p m until 10 p m Wednesday and after 9 a m. Thursday.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p m Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev Walter Mixon and Rev Harry McIntyre officiating.

Burial will be in the Bonner Creek Church Cemetery.

Betty Jean Pittman Thomas, Age 84 and a resident of the Bonner Creek Community passed away at 9:00 pm Tuesday September 13, 2016 at the Resthaven Living Center in Bogalusa. She was a longtime member of Bonner Creek Baptist Church where she formerly taught Sunday school. Betty was a school bus driver for the Franklinton Schools for 32 years and also drove the Bowling Green School athletic teams and Bucanette dance team for many years. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her son Alan Thomas, her husband of nearly 50 years Villar Thomas, her parents Ilos Pittman and Dora O’Neal Pittman, a brother Howard Pittman, 2 sisters Thelma Waskom, Hazel Jones and grandson Brandon Thomas.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday September 16th from 5 pm until 9 pm. Visitation will continue Saturday at Bonner Creek Baptist Church (Bonner Creek Road near Franklinton off of Hwy. 25 South) from 9 am until 11 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
