October 22, 1924 - August 14, 2006

Shelby C. Jones, 81, a resident of Franklinton, died at 9:50 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14 in Riverside Medical Center. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Canaan Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sons, Shelby Lynn Jones, Robby Jones and Michael Jones, all of Franklinton; two daughters, Peggy Verberne of Kentwood and Paulette Sarro of Franklin-ton; three sisters, Clara McKee and Louise Wascom, both of Folsom and Virginia Galloway of Bogalusa; one brother, S.W. Jones of Bogalusa; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Ricky Jones and Randy Jones; and a daughter, Rebecca Jones.

Visitation will begin today at 10 a.m. in Crain Funeral Home and continue until time for the funeral service at 2 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel. Dr. Gene Richards will officiate, with burial to follow in the Bonner Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

And a resident of Franklinton died at 10:20 AM Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at her residence.

She was a retired aide at Southeast Louisiana Hospital in Mandeville. She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church.

Survived by: 3 Sons and daughters in law: Shelby L. and Brenda Jones, Robbie Jones and Theresa Goings, Michael Jones all of Franklinton, 2 Daughters and sons in law: Peggy J. and Wayne Verberne of Kentwood, Paulette J. and Ben Sarro of Franklinton, 2 Brothers: Durward Morgan of Franklinton, Nathan Morgan of Amite, 1 Sister: Johnnie Ruth Crowe of Franklinton, 11 Grandchildren and 15 Great grandchildren,

She was preceded in death by father of the children Shelby Jones, 2 sons Ricky Jones and Randy Jones and a daughter Rebecca Jones.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home from 5 PM until 9 PM Wednesday, August 12, 2009 and after 9 AM Thursday. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Stanley Adams and Dr. Gene Richards officiating. Burial will follow in the Bonner Creek Church Cemetery.
