William A "Red" Jenkins, 83, a resident of Bonner Creek, died yesterday at Riverside Medical Center. He was a retired employee of the Town of Franklinton, a member and deacon at Bonner Creek Baptist Church and a member and past master of Zona Lodge No. 337.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lavern and Carolyn Jenkins of Franklinton; three daughters and a son-in-law, Fayrene Buchanan of Franklinton, Shirley Barnes of Houston, Texas, and Sandra and Maxie Graves of Tylertown, MS; six step-children, Loyd Fornea, Eugene Fornea, Freddie Fornea, Terry Fornea, Bobby Minton and Shirley Ikerd; two sisters, Ada Jones and Elouise Helton, both of Bogalusa; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Mae Fornea Jenkins; three brothers, Shelton, Zelemer and Elton Jenkins; and a sister, Nina Mae Graves.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home today from 6-10 p.m. with a Masonic service at 7 p.m. Visitation continues tomorrow at the funeral home from 9-11:30 a.m. and at Bonner Creek Baptist Church from noon until the funeral service at 2 p.m. The Revs. Clayton Kennedy and Floyd Cheek will officiate and interment will follow in Bonner Creek Church Cemetery.
