Farmerville, La. - Dr. Joe M. Funderburk, 77, superintendent of the Jonesboro, La. Charity Hospital, died Friday morning in West Monroe following a short illness. Dr. Funderburk was a native of Vienna, La. and was a member of the Church of Christ. He was also a member of the American Medical Association and a Shriner. Survivors include a brother, Minor M. Funderburk, Sterlington, La. He also leaves 27 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Ward's Chapel Church of Christ near Farmerville with Bill Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Ward's Chapel Cemetery under direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Farmerville. (El Dorado Times - December 27, 1969)
