Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Thomas Hilburn Evans, age 84, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 18, 2008 at Luna Assembly of God Church, Luna, LA. Officiating will be Rev. Joel Brackett and Rev. Eddie Hilburn. Interment will follow at Luna Methodist Church Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.

Mrs. Evans was born March 25, 1923 in Ouachita Parish, LA and passed away January 15, 2008 in West Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Evans was retired from Manville with over 40 years of service. She was a member of Luna Assembly of God Church.

Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her husband, Iley Evans, Sr.; son, Eddie Hilburn; grandson, Will May; granddaughter, Tammy Manning; step-son, Sonny Evans; step-daughters, Maureene Manning, Barbara Morgan, and Linda Moore; brother, Elbert Thomas.

Mrs. Evans will be remembered as a loving, kind, gentle lady that cared deeply for her family and friends.

Mrs. Evans is survived by her sons: Robert L. Hilburn and wife Martha, Larry R. Hilburn and wife Ginger, Billy Evans and wife Brenda, Randy Evans and wife Karen, Mickey Evans and wife Sue; daughters: Ginger May and husband Charles, Cherry Evans; step-daughter: Janice Walker and husband Sam; step-sons, Iley Evans and wife Sherry, Johnny Evans and wife Brenda; sisters: Ellene Burk, Ila Burnett; brothers: Kary Thomas, Doyle Wheat, and John Wheat; special son-in-law: Charles May; 25 grand children and 30 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.

A special thanks to Linda Lewis and Dr. Barry Weinberger for their care of Mrs. Evans during her illness.
