Funeral services for Brenda Milby Orr, 74 of Oak Grove, Louisiana will be held at 10:am Friday, July 6, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove with Rev. Mike Ray and Rev. Billy Castilaw officiating. She will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove, Louisiana. Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Cox Funeral Home.
She was born August 15, 1943 in Winnsboro, LA and went to her heavenly home Tuesday, July 3, 2018.
Brenda was a member of Green Baptist Church of Oak Grove. She was also a member of the Gotcha Covered Quilting Club. There were two things that brought her great joy: her family and her quilting. Her family was the recipient of her love of quilting. Every child and grandchild has been gifted a quilt made by her precious hands. In addition to her family, many friends and neighbors were blessed with special creations from her quilt shop.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Lavelle Milby; and sister, Barbara Milby; and brother, Ken Milby.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jimmie Orr; daughter, Jenny Orr Bennett (David) of Oak Grove; daughter, Gwin Orr Bell of West Monroe, LA; son, Randy Orr (Tammye) of Oak Grove; granddaughter, Jessica Thomas (Patrick) of Minden, LA; grandson, Ben Bennett of Monroe, LA; granddaughter, Olivia Dixon of Russellville, AR; granddaughter, Kendall Orr of Oak Grove; sister, Jan Morgan (Dale) of Monroe, LA; sister, Patricia Free of Sicily Island, LA.
Pallbearers are: Dennis Bonner, Jerry Hagan, James Miley, Kenny Nix, Elliott Prine, Shane Ray, Bryant Russell, Phil Wilson
Honorary Pallbearers are: Howard Ainsworth, Wayne Gregory, Shorty McLemore, Harry Rogers, Phil White, Enos Wicker and members of the Gotcha Covered Quilting Club.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Dr. James M Smith, Dr. Mark C Napoli, Dr. Timothy Spires, Sr., Dr. Blaine Borders, Dr. Brad Johnson, Dr. Jessica Wilden, West Carroll Ambulance Service and Matt Wegner, FNP, Dr. White and the wonderful ER staff at West Carroll Memorial Hospital for the attentive treatment and care extended to our loved one.
