Lillian Baham Bateman, 88, a lifelong resident of Washington Parish, died Tuesday in River West Hospital in Plaquemine. A 1933 graduate of Mt. Hermon High School and a member of Clifton Baptist Church for over 65 years, she was an active participant in and supporter of the Washington Parish Free Fair all her life.
Survivors include a son, William Phillip Bateman of Franklinton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rosamond and Louis Nicolosi of Plauemine, Ruth and Allen Crowe of Jonesborough, TN, and Donna and Don Kilbourne of Clifton; a brother, James Baham of Franklinton; a sister, Jessie Baham Penton of Bogalusa; grandchildren, Rachel Nicolosi, Sharla and Mike Bond, David Madison Nicolosi, Louis Nicolosi Jr., Don and Marielle Larson, Kathy and John Hood, Andrea and Ken Schultz, Craig Larson, Kristal Bateman, and Beth and Todd Foust; step-grandchildren, David Crowe and Sharon Collins; great-grandchildren; Greyson Bond, Kristina Larson, Rebeka Larson, John David Hood, Shayne Shultz, Kathleen Shultz, Madison Foust, and Gabriell Foust; and step-great-grandchildren, Christopher Collins and Zachary Collins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Madison E. Bateman; her parents, Phillip and Fannie Bankston Baham; a sister, Viola Baham Moody; and a grandchild, Lisa Lamont Nicolosi.
Visitation will be held at Crain Funeral Home tomorrow from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday at 10 a.m. at Clifton Baptist Church, 27312 LA Hwy. 25, Franklinton, until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Lt. Col. Don Larson will officiate at the service. Burial will follow in the Ellis Cemetery.
