Union Springs Cemetery
Sabine County,
Louisiana

February 25, 1790 - July 14, 1877
Son of Sylvester Bossier, Sr & Marie Jeanne Lambre

son of Francois Bossier, Sr & Rosayle Charlotte Barre'(who had 9 children); he was the grandson of Jean Baptiste Dit Le Brun Bossier(who had 3 sons).

Marie Jeanne Lambre, his mother, was born in 1774 in New Orleans & died in 1794. She had Sylvester & then his sister, Marie Jeanne Pamela Bossier, in 1792. She was the daughter of Jean Lambre' of an old Natchitoches family, and Marie Le Vasseur, from another very old French Creole Louisiana family.

This Sylvester was said to have a cane that had jewels on the handle that enclosed a sword inside. All the Bossier men were skilled in fencing. He was also said to speak and write French fluently, and corresponded with cousins back in France.

Sylvester C Bossier married Suzanne Collins and had 4 children, one of whom was Louisa Rosayle Bossier. Louisa married David Taber, descendant of David Fairman Taber, in Natchitoches, Louisiana.

A son, Fairman Franklin Taber, was a highly regarded surgeon and had sons and a daughter with an engineering aptitude that they directed toward improving oil production at the well-head. It made them quite wealthy.

A daughter of Dr Taber, Vida C Taber, formed a company with her husband, Erle Palmer Halliburton that became the worldwide oil, energy, and construction company known now as "Halliburton." VP Cheney was CEO of the company in the 1990's.

Louise Rosayle Bossier was Vida C (Taber) Halliburton's grandmother. Therefore, Sylvester C is the great grandfather of Vida C Taber.
