BOSSIER CITY, LA – Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Jean Starn Shogren, 85, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2015, at Hill Crest Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. Ken Norton will officiate. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Doris was born in Eldora, Iowa on April 23, 1930, and passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015. She enjoyed Bingo, LSU football, and was a member and avid volunteer of VFW Post 5951 and AFSA Chapter 615. Doris will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who loved her dearly.
Doris joins those who preceded her death including her husband, Retired CMSgt Leroy Shogren; parents, Ross and Olivan; brother, Paul; sister, Faye Daleske and husband Harry; granddaughter, Chrissy Flick; and son-in-law, Jim Flick. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jean; sons, Stan and wife Terry, Mitch, and Randy; sister, Mary June Reece and husband, John; sister-in-law, Mary Alice Starn; six grandsons, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
