Graveside services for Virginia W. Doty, 77 of Fayetteville, GA will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 3, 2016 in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston with Reverend Lynn Hawkins officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12 noon until service time at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston.

Virginia was a former Ruston resident and Christian woman who had attended Barnett Springs Baptist Church. Virginia and her husband Don have lived in Georgia for the past 34 years. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Arnetta and Cliff Whalen; father, Carlton Benefield; brother, Cip Whalen and infant daughter, Ricky Jo Faulkenberry.

Mrs. Doty is survived by her husband of 49 years, Don Doty of Fayetteville, GA; children: Toni and husband Mike Snyder of Danville, IN; Penny and husband Rick Shehane of Heath Springs, SC; Wendy and husband Tony Blackmon of Heath Springs, SC and Glen Faulkenbaerry and wife Sandy of Billerich, MA; grandchildren: Victoria Vazquez, Kenny Vazquez, Ricky Shehane and wife April, Samantha Shehane and Cory, Bobby Shehane and Stephanie, Jade Harris and Tommy, Mark Baker and wife Brooke and Carlie Faulkenberry; 14 great grandchildren and numerous extended family. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and dedicated military wife.
