Funeral Services for Mrs. Emilia Cawthon Beard, 66, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 18, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Kevin Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens in West Monroe, LA.

Emilia Cawthon Beard was born on July 23, 1948 in Winnfield, LA and passed away on November 16, 2014 in West Monroe, LA after a brief illness. She was a retired Retail Merchandiser with Hallmark Greeting Cards. Emilia is preceded in death by her parents, Bacil and Betty Cawthon; and by her sister, Delores Vaughn Poss.

Survivors include her husband, Walter “Ed” Beard, III; daughters, Laura Nikki Beard Kilpatrick and husband, Chad, and Sabrina Beard Cole and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Hunter Cole and Emilia Mae Cole; sister-in-laws, Janet Beard Ross and husband, Don and Gayle Beard Bryan; along with several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Scott Cole, Chad Kilpatrick, Don Ross, Dan Windham, Mike Windham, and Steve Bryan. Honorary Pallbearer will be Vic Simmermaker.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, November 17, 2014 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to the Cancer Foundation League of Northeast Louisiana.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staffs of Louisiana Hospice, Glenwood ICU and Glenwood 4 North for the love and care showed during Mrs. Beard’s illness.
