Funeral services for Johnnie Vernell King Webb, 92, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Pastor Michael D. O'Neal and Michael Stravato officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Burial will be in the Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens

Ms. Webb was born in Bluff City, Arkansas February 3, 1920 and died June 19, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Leslie M. (Copeck) Webb, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Tony King, her brother Homer Lee King, sister's Lillian Davis and husband Larry; Trudie Pogue and husband John.

Johnnie is survived by her cousin, Edward Rasch and his wife Jerre, a very special friend for over fifty years, Miss Martha Kelly and also Michael Stravato, whom she often spoke of as "the Son I never had."

Johnnie began her career as Executive Secretary and Proof Reader with the former United Gas Company in Shreveport; then when Selman Field Air Base was located in Monroe in 1942, she was the first local Secretary to be employed and she remained there until World War II ended and the base phased out all the Air Forces personnel. She then accepted an office job at Weeks Supply as Secretary and joint Bookkeeper on supply receipts and sales. Johnnie continued her career as Executive Secretary until she decided to retire in the special business jobs.

Pallbearers will be Benny Cassels, Chester Spurrier, Dean McDuffie, Greg Dison, Mike Ritchie and Eddie Simmons.

Johnnie Webb was a faithful member of Family Church since 1985 and was a member of the "PrimeTime" senior adult group.
