Theresa was born October 8, 1918 in Plain Dealing, Louisiana to Marcus and Nora Farrington. She married James MacKenzie on October 29, 1943. Ten days later he was sent overseas for two years during WWII. When he returned from the war, they made their home in Shreveport. In 1976 they moved to Houston, Texas and lived there 20 years. They moved back to Shreveport in 1996.
Theresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful cook, homemaker, loved to sew and had a green thumb. She loved her family and friends and will be missed dearly. Comfort comes to the family knowing she is at peace and with her Heavenly Father.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James MacKenzie; her parents; and six brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Terry Bomar and husband, Edd and Janet Davis and husband, Wayne, all of Shreveport; her grandchildren, Scott Bomar and wife, Angela, of Sugarland, Texas, Jeff Bomar and wife, Natalie, Meredith Davis and Clint Davis and wife, Ashley, all of Shreveport; and four great-grandchildren, Piper and Logan Bomar and Madelyn and Grayson Bomar. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws, Marie Farrington of Richardson, Texas and Marina MacKenzie of Frisco, Texas and a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Bomar, Jeff Bomar, Clint Davis, James Estes, and Ron Mears.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Gloria Roberson and Eunice White for all their love and dedication to Mother. They were her angels on earth. We would also like to thank the caregivers at Live Oak Health Center East Wing for their loving care and attention during Mother’s last years.
