BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for Addie V. Oliver, 99, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Red River Baptist Church, Benton, LA. Officiating will be Rev. James Hoover, assisted by Rev. Richard Beeman. Interment will follow at Lay Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA.

Mrs. Oliver was born October 23, 1913 to Lester and Lucy Norris Hughes and died February 9, 2013. She was the former owner of Oliver's Grocery and Market in Benton, LA. She was a longtime member of Red River Baptist Church and served as Sunday School and Training Union teacher and as church secretary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.D. Oliver, Sr.; son, W.D. Oliver, Jr.; daughter, Carol Imogene Price; sisters, Gladys Porter, Annice Barber, Bertie Averitt, Dessi Lee Conney and brothers, Arlington Hughes, Henry Hughes, James Hughes and Earvin Hughes.

She is survived by daughters, Brenda Pons and husband Paul of Bossier City, LA, Clarice Creech of New Orleans, LA; son-in-law, Jerry Price; daughter-in-law, Lydia Mae Oliver; grandchildren, Jennifer Carrier, Sandy Johnson, Pam Price, Kim Schulze, Robert Oliver, Judy Roberts. Kathy Johnson; seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Honoring Mrs. Oliver as pallbearers will be Ricky Andrews, W.L. Creamer, Richard Waldrop, Howard Brooks, Tom Pearsons and Ken Craig.
