Bossier City, LA - Funeral services for Nancy Kay Mizell, age 53, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014 at the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David McCormick and Rev. Milton Cole officiating. Burial will be in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Bailey Funeral Home.
Nancy was a native of Springhill, LA and a graduate of Springhill High School, class of 1978. She also was a graduate of LA Tech in Ruston and attended North Western University in Natchitoches, LA. She was a member of the Springhill Missionary Baptist Church in her childhood and was a member of Heritage Missionary Baptist Church in Bossier City, LA. She worked as an RN at the VA Hospital Critical Care in Shreveport for 25 plus years.
She is survived by her father, Shelton Mizell of Springhill, LA; brother-in-law and wife, Wayne and Susan Tripp of Sarepta. She is preceded in death by her mother, Billie Katherine Mizell and sister, Christie Tripp.
Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Eason, Richard Shaw, Bennett Burns, Mark Eason, Wayne King and Phillip Thurman.
