Born in Dallas County, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Moses "Gidge" Moore and Labetha C. Moore. She married Thomas Emerson in Calhoun County, Arkansas and they had three children. Edward Thomas Harris became the administrator to Thomas Emerson's estate when he died in 1863. Edward was married to Elizabeth Williams at this time. After the settlement of the estate, Edward Thomas Harris and Frances Jane ran off to live and raise a large family near Goldonna, in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. This specific marker was placed at the request of Frances Jane with her maiden name of Moore since she and Edward never married.
