Cotton Valley, LA - Funeral services for Mrs.Vivian Dennis Mitchell, age 92, will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 5, 2014, at First Baptist Church, 120 Baptist Drive, in Cotton Valley, LA, with grandson, Ronald A. Mitchell Jr., officiating assisted by Rev. Don Shirley. Interment will follow in the Cotton Valley Cemetery, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Cotton Valley, LA.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 05, 2014, from 10:00-11:00 am at the church.

Mrs. Mitchell was born on August 29, 1921, to John Alexander Dennis and Addie Mae McCollum Dennis, in Emerson, AR and passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 in Minden. She was a retired beautician and owner of M & D Beauty Shop. Mrs. Mitchell was a lifelong resident of the area and a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Cotton Valley.

She is survived by a son, Ronald A. (Linda) Mitchell Sr.; daughter, Karen M. (Steve) Haynes; brother, Talmadge (Betty) Dennis; grandchildren, Ronald "Chip" Mitchell Jr., James Todd Mitchell, Lauren Haynes Parks, and Mitchell Steven Haynes; great grandchildren, Alizabeth and Isaac.

Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, George Mitchell; her parents; two sisters, Johnnie Mae and Celestine; and a brother, Arthur.

Pallbearers will be her nephews: Marvin Dennis, Greg Dennis, Gary Dennis, Kenneth Mitchell, Michael Mitchell, Timmy Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be James Allen and Steve Haynes.
