Funeral services for Mrs. Arleta Featherston Mitchell, age 89, will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, July 31, 2015, at the Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church, Sarepta, LA, where she was a faithful member, with Rev. Todd Pickard officiating. Interment will follow in Old Sarepta Cemetery the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Bailey Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mitchell was born on August 24, 1925 to Frank Daniel and Sudie Mae Powell Featherston in Lewisville, AR and passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in Sarepta, LA. She was a resident of this area for 42 years. She loved her church and cooking for her family. She was a member of the Good Sam's Club; loved to travel and had been to Canada, Mexico and had traveled to many areas of the United States. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great great-grandmother.
She is survived by two daughters, Glenda M. Odom and husband, Billy of Sarepta, LA, Sylvia M. Boozer and husband, Jack of Moore, SC; three grandsons, Jeff Odom and wife, Stephanie, Jack Boozer, Jr. and wife, Marie; Scott Boozer and wife, Jennifer; granddaughter, Angie Schumacher and husband, Roger; two great-granddaughters, Tori S. Levi and husband, Dustin, Lacey Boozer; three great-grandsons, Levi Schumacher, Jesse Schumacher, Jacob Schumacher; great great-granddaughter, Annagrace Marie Levi and half sister, Lillie Mae Colvin of Fayetteville, AR.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her husband, Glendon G. "Mitch" Mitchell, her parents and brother, Frank Featherston, Jr..
Pallbearers will be Jackie Boozer, Jr., Benny Reeder, Bob Seiple, Delbert Fuller, Clarence Reeme and Jackie Allen.
The family wishes to express appreciation to the Gamble Hospice for their tender and loving care.
