Glen Willowdean Burnett, 96, of Tyler, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012.She was born on Dec. 3 1915, in Metcalf, Caddo Parish, La., to the late Blackburn H. and Mattie Pearl Oxford Bird. She moved to Tyler in 1972 from Springhill, La., and was employed by the University of Texas Health Center until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Tyler.She was preceded in death by her husband, William Fred "Lefty" Burnett.She is survived by son, William Fred Burnett Jr. and wife Linda, of Sugar Land; daughters, Janell Glenn McAnally and husband Ben, of Tyler and Shirley Hobbs and husband Ron, of Plano.She also is survived by grandchildren, Tal Glenn and wife Holly, of Tyler, Tami Glenn Fink and husband Rainer, of College Station, Kaysie Burnett Sapp, of Pasadena, and Dana Nichols and husband Trent, of Sachse; and great-grandchildren, Michael and Stephen Fink and Colby Nichols; sister, Eva Langham, of Tyler. She was preceded in death by brothers, Verdon, Kenneth and Elry Bird.Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2012, with services to follow at 2 p.m. at the chapel at Burks Walker Tippet Funeral Home. Chaplain Elwood Stetson will conduct the service.
