A Funeral Mass for Jack Henson, 84, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 27, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Francis Kamau officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. A Vigil will follow with Father John Paul officiating. Jack was born August 15, 1933 in Cincinnati, OH to George and Ethel Henson and went to be with his Lord on April 22, 2018 Shreveport. He moved to Louisiana because he was in the Air Force. He married and never left. He retired from the City of Shreveport Water Department. He was an avid member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, working and serving in all capacities except for officiating at Mass. Jack was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and the Forty and Eight Club. He loved to plant flowers and grow tomatoes and hot peppers. He enjoyed spending time with his family and church family. He was loved by all and will be terribly missed. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Henson and longtime companion, Angie Dumas. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Gloria Jean Tuminello (Vince); grandsons, Charles Stampley (Yvonne), Jason Stampley, Brett Stampley (Monica), and Daniel Dumas; brother, George (Lois); many great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He will also be missed by his beloved cat, Baby Kitty. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Charles, Jason, and Brett Stampley; Greg Sepulvado, Walt Recker, and Richard Guzman. Honorary pallbearer will be Bryan Dumas. The family would like to give a special thanks to the VA Hospital and Highland Place Rehab.
