SHREVEPORT, LA-Funeral services celebrating the life of Deuard N. Meacham, 91, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel with Rev. Frances Duron officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Park West Cemetery with the U.S. Army Honor Guard and grandson, Jeremy Meacham, II, presenting the honors. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013 at the funeral home.

Deuard was born on February 27, 1922 in Bienville, LA to George and Addie LouEllen Meacham and passed away on September 24, 2013. He was a resident of Shreveport and a Baptist. He was a former Shreveport Policeman and owner of Meacham Mobile Home Movers. He proudly served his country in the National Guard and the U.S. Army during WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 11 brothers and sisters; sons-in-law, Joe A. Festervan, Jr. and Billy Rex Stewart, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Barbara McComic Meacham. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Clara Genell Skains Meacham; son, David Earl Meacham; daughters, Delores Meacham Festervan, Virginia Meacham Stewart and Belinda Meacham Jones and husband, Danny who was like a son; grandchildren, Rex Stewart, Jim Festervan, Jeremy Meacham, Brandon Stewart, Brian Stewart, Dr. Steven Jones, Jamie McCoy, Susie Festervan, Daniel Festervan, and Dr. Gavin Jones; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; siblings, Ora Lee Russell and Huey Wade Meacham.

Pallbearers will be Rex Stewart, Jim Festervan, Jeremy Meacham, Brandon Stewart, Dr. Steven Jones, Daniel Festervan, Dr. Gavin Jones and Trey Stewart.
